Fernando Torres hails from Jalisco, Mexico’s home of mariachi, jaripeo, the wide brimmed sombrero, rodeos called charreadas, and the Mexican Hat Dance. Jalisco is the heart of Mexico, where a long and storied history has brought to life a dynamic, robust culture.

Jalisco is also home to the most famous type of mezcal – tequila! Made from the blue agave plant, tequila was introduced to the world with the introduction of the railroad.

You will find tequila in three styles: Blanco (unaged), Reposado (aged two to twelve months in oak barrels), and Anejo (aged twelve to thirty-six months in oak barrels).

El Agave is named after the blue agave plant used famously to produce tequila in the colorful Mexican state of Jalisco. Come try our assortment of tequilas and diverse dishes. Fernando Torres, the business manager, comes from Jalisco while other personnel originate from diverse Hispanic regions. Much of the restaurant is influenced by Mexican culture and cuisine but also has our own unique flavors. We have been operating in Ruckersville, VA for over 20 years. We allow pets outside on the patio. Only service animals are allowed inside.
How long is the wait for a table?

The wait for a table depends on the size of your group and the day of the week. Usually, our busiest days are Friday and the weekends during the evenings. The wait can be around 15-20 minutes but there is no guarantee. If you’re unsure, give us a call.
